Kodakara is a small town in Thrissur district of Kerala state in south . It is located on National Highway (NH 47) 20 km south of Thrissur town and about 10 km north of Chalakudy. It is transforming into an Industrial town housing a large number of employees of the Apollo Tyres factory at Perambra -Thrissur to the southoftown.
A developing town in central Kerala, famous for festivals and pilgrim centers .The Poonilarkavu Bhagavathy Temple , Kunnathrikkovil Subramanian Temple and Areswaram Temple are the well known Hindu Temples in Kodakara. St. Joseph's Forane church, Kanakamala, Perambra Church is famous pilgrim centre for Christans. Kodakara is most famous for Kodakara Shashti.
